Based on customer demand and a focus on bringing products to market more quickly and efficiently, Inertia has expanded its rapid prototype and product manufacturing capabilities. On a recent 3 week mission to Shenzhen China, Inertia’s Director Operations, Larry Zhou met with several rapid prototype and manufacturing sources to build relationships to support Inertia’s growing product development services and product supply business. While Inertia has been a huge consumer and proponent of rapid prototype methods for many years using RP 3D printing technologies such as SLA, SLS, FDM and Polyjet, their applicability for some functional and structural testing sometimes fell short of requirements due to inherent deficiencies in the rapid prototype material properties. To respond to this need, Inertia can now source CNC machined plastic prototypes, often made from the very same production materials, within one week from our partners in China for prices competitive with local rapid prototype / 3D printing!
